944turbo v. ur-q

I've not commented on the UrQ vs 944T discussion. Partially because,
like AudiDudi, I'm under no misconceptions about my '85 UrQ vs. a 944T.
Also, I think the 944 is one of the sweetest cars I've ever had the
opportunity to drive. So, why do I drive a UrQ?

1. I need a car that's usable year-round. Here in WI, you're not
thinking clearly if you routinely use a 944 in the winter.
2. Rarity. 944's are fairly common, UrQ's a "bit" more rare. You
don't have people walking up to a 944 and saying "What is that
beautiful car? I've never seen anything like it!"
3. Interior room. As I've stated before, I use my UrQ as
a family car. A 944 is really a 2-seater.
4. Stealth. Compared to a 944, a UrQ is very stealthy.
Everyone _assumes_ a 944 is much faster than it is.
5. But Phil hit it on the head.... I don't want to be known
as one of those "Porsche" guys:

<<I consigned him to the list of known assholes and held back till
Silverstone.>>

That being said, though, a clean low mileage 1988 944 Turbo S
would be _very_ tempting.
