thanks for window defogger advice

Thanks to all who responded on this question.

Based on several inputs (and my timidity when expensive pieces of glass are
involved) I've gone ahead and bought the Loctite repair kit. It's a 2-part
goop--called "Electrically Conductive Rear Window Defogger Tab Adhesive". A
tiny dab of the stuff is $7.99 at Pep Boys. I'll report back after I've had
a chance to use it.

BTW, I stopped at the Audi dealer service desk on the way home and asked
what _they_ do for the rear defogger connection. "Use the adhesive kit", he
said.


P.S.
I have written 100 times on the blackboard: "silver solder is not
low-melting" ;-)
