Steve- As you can tell from my posts, I do not type very fast/well. But
judging from your comments, my intolerance for the V8 knockers must somehow
show through!!!
My guess is that some folks have purchased used V8s which had not received
proper maintenance after the waranty expired, and were not astute enough to
ask for the maintenance records before the sale. So now its the cars fault!!!
I was talking with a Porsche/Audi mech once and he said it amazed him that
people who would spend the big bucks on Porsches and upscale Audis  put in
cheap gas and waited 30K miles between oil changes.On the maintenance issue, I
too was intimidated by the beast untill I got the factory manual. BTW, I owe
the list an update on additional driving comparisons between the V8 and A8. I
have not changed any of my initial comments, but can add I am having a hard
time weaning myself off the full set of V8 gauges. The A8 only has fuel, water
temp. No oil pressure or oil temp or alt. voltage.Perhaps other satisfied V8
owners will add their two cents.
