I scratched my wheel.. now what?

I scraped the right-hand front wheel of my 97 A4 (with the 5-spoke alloys
that come with the Sport package) on a curb last night.  It wasn't too
hard -- it took a little metal off the outermost ridge on the rim (nearest
the tire), but the rim's not bent.

Anyway, there's a few metal scrapings where the damage occurred.  Any
suggestions on what I should use to get them off and smooth the scratches?
Fine-grain sandpaper?  Steel wool?  I'm anxious to get it settled, but
I'll wait until I get a few responses, since I really have no idea what to
use.

I've had the car 1 year, and my first wheel scrape.  Not too bad for
someone who lives in the city and parallel parks constantly :)
