Archives & Crash Tests
Is anyone aware if there is a method for searching the archives of the
postings to this listserv. A couple of threads have caught my eye and I
have picked up on them a bit late. (i.e. Easy to get 280 HP from a 12v . .
.)
Just as an aside, and singing the praises of Audi . . .
Less than 24 hours after I bought my new 93 100cs, an oncoming car turned
left in front of me in an intersection. I was able to swerve to avoid her
(instant reaction . . . I had my son in the back seat), but hit a Ford
Escort who had pulled out too far while attempted to make a right turn on
red from a lane perpendicular to mine. I essentially hit the Escort with a
glancing blow to the left front fender just anterior to the driver's front
tire, but pinned it to the 12 inch curb . . . thus producing damage that
probably totalled the Ford. Even the airbag went off in the little bugger.
Total damage to the Audi . . . $2750.00. All superficial. No (and I mean
NONE) frame damage, Replace lights, fender, hood, grille, and other
cosmetic stuph. My airbag did deploy (even though my impact was a "front"
impact, and this has me a bit worried, but I really didn't "need" for it to
deploy. All in all, I was really impressed (and glad I wasn't driving an
Escort).
The woman driving the car making the oncoming left in front of me . . .
left the scene of the accident. Witnesses got the make and model of her car
. . . but no plate. I got left holding the financial bag.
