HELP! CQ Windshield?

Has anyone replaced a windshield in a 90 Coupe Quattro?  Glass company has
been out two times trying to install a windshield in my CQ.  Bentley says to
remove exterior and interior A pillar moldings.  However, it does not say how
to remove exterior A pillar molding,  Do you have to drill out the rivets that
holds the black trim that runs to the back of the  quarter glass?  Is there
another way to remove these moldings?  HELP
