A/C Addition

You memtioned that a friend added A/C to a Japanese car in 6 hours. This is
entirely possible. Because of tax reasons, the Japanese shipped most all of
their cars to the U.S. without A/C and added the A/C at the port of entry.
The cars were set up so this could be done very quickly. The blower/air
inlet was tucked in the passenger side corner connected to a center mounted
heater distribution box by a plastic duct. To install the evaporator package
you just removed the duct and put the evaporator in two plastic cases in its
place. The rest of the car was set up for easy installation of the
compressor and condenser packages.

Not so with the Audi.
