     This actually happened in Brazil. No such thing as
     "ph" for "f", peoples' names were actually changed
     on renewal of public documents. You went to bed
     Philip or Philis and woke up Filip and Filis.

     They did similar things with the "w".  No such
     letter in the alphabet errr alfabet anymore, when
     it does exist it's referred to as a "v". BMW is
     uttered as BMV.
