Re: Window problem-not cable or motor
the window can go down but not up?
if this is the problem it might be the switch. I had the same problem
with my 4000q it would go down no problem and up every now and then.
This would happen because the connection on the switch was
intermittent(sp)on the way up, but putting it down the connection was
fine, I took it apart and cleaned in between the connections with fine
sandpaper,600 grit or so, this worked fine for about a day or so.
finally broke down and bought a new on ~35.00 a pop. Eventually all of
my windows had this problem and had to replace all the switches.

Subject: Window problem-not cable or motor
As I arrived home today, found that I couldn't raise the dr window.
Assumed it
to be "cable time" again. Pulled panel, found the cable OK, able to
raise
window by shoving it while operating switch. Lowers fine, motor will run
when
trying to raise it, but window stays where it was left. Can't push it up
unless I hit the down switch, window goes all the way down, then hold
the up
switch, and then shove up window, but must I "keep up" with the motor.
I removed the regulator assy. opened the reg, cleaned/lubed the gears,
cleaned/lubed the slider track. I found a small screw (maybe 1/2 screw
with
head) stuck to the metal piece that rides the vertical metal channel -
thought
maybe this was causing a bind. Very surprised that it didn't work after
reassembly.
Anyone been here?
