No magic trick.
You're gonna have to drop the subframe.  Good thing is, you don't have to 
actuall pull it off the control arms, nor the arms off the strut housing.

Unbolt the four subframe bolts, and let it hang down.  It is in the way of 
the oil pan otherwise.

BTDT a few months back.  Still has a slight leak, so I have a new front 
crank seal, which will go in sometime in the future.

BTW, those subframe bolts are "always replace" items.
