AFAIK, WD40 is not intended as a contact cleaner.  Contact cleaners can be
obtained from electronics stores.  It is best to open the switch (nickel
shim stock helps here) and clean the contacts with a contact burnishing
tool.  (Crocus cloth would probably work.)  Then coat with a _small_ amount
of ProGold, Stabilant 22, or equivalent.  TV contact cleaner with lube would
also do for a while.
