'92 100S Maintenance Question
Hi Listers!
My Dad has a 1992 100S with about 98,000 miles on it. Although he is
planning the purchase of a new A6 Avant, he is planning to keep the 100 for
a while. To the best of his knowledge the timing belt has never been changed
(yes, I'm knocking on wood as I write this). From the recent thread of posts
that I've read on the subject, I let him know that this should be done at
once. The last post that I remember reading said to replace the following
items at the same time:
€ timing belt
€ timing tension rollers
€ water pump
€ thermostat
Are there any other bits and pieces that should be swapped out at the same
time?
Also he has noticed that the handling of the car isn't quite what it was.
Anyone have any experience with any of the replacement shocks such as the
bilstiens, konis, or boges for this car? Are there other things like
bushings that need to be replaced at the same time as well?
Thanks for your help!
