V8Q Timing Belt Replacement



Local V8Q owner has a failed water pump.

Thanks to Unka Bart, I have access to V8 maintenance materials.  But -
has anyone tried this job without the cam locking tool?  Is it possible,
e.g., to mark the cam gears before removing the 'old' belt and
reassemble to the marks - or does the adjustment system inevitably
move unlocked cams?

Anyone got a decent drawing or description of the locking tool, adequate
for its recreation by a local engineering shop?

And if there are V8Q list members around, would one of you please ask
these questions on that list - I'm not subscribed to it and I don't
have its address.
