Concours Italiano & historics

Hello All,

Just got back to the bay area from one of The Killer Car weekends of all
time.

Concours Italiano was a blast. Many sexy red cars. The German (original 916)
and English corral parking areas were a treat. The standard parking area is
a sight to behold in and of itself.

The historics were a once in a lifetime event. As many would attest even if
it is repeated on Porsche's 75th oder 100th gebuortstag it won't be the
same. Many of the original race cars were driven by the people who raced
them originally. Can Am cars, fire breathing 935s, Hurley Heywood in a 914-6
GT, 13 Spyders on the track, 917K through 30s, 3 race car and one massive
street car parade lap (s). AMAZING.

One significant event did happen for me though. The race car that I would
most like to drive on the street has been replaced.

1998 911 GT1. I highly recommend picking one up, if you have the means.

As far as audi sightings go Trophy Wives beat them out at least 30 to 1. A
yellow '90/'91 coupe quattro and a green A4 on Friday and a Black '93 S4
with A!Avantgarde six spoke wheels on Sunday.

Get your reservations for next year.

Frank--

PS: Taking the Bus to the track is the only way to go. Crowds, etc, were out
of hand on Saturday.
