Hi Jim,
I had a similar occurence in my '87 5kCSQ a few years back. Went in to
get my teeth cleaned came out two hours later to a battery that was deader than
dead. A jump started it right up. Turns out one of the "run after" relays had
failed in the on position and just continued to run the fans and pump until
the battery was exhausted. If this has happened to you you may be able to get
the car to run, but all the "juice" your alternator is creating is going to
keep all your lights and fans and such running and very lil' was left to charge
the flat battery...just a thought. Check in the relay box for a melted one;
they're easy to spot:-)
