Follow-up: new battery

Hi all,

'New' battery (Varta 70 AH) went in yesterday afternoon, took it for a nice
drive and it was OK for the rest of the day. Having stood idle overnight,
this morning it read 12.6 V before starting, 11.25 while starting (started
first try) and 13.8 while idling.

Looks like it's OK now...

Thanks for all your help. Let's hope your ideas (and mine) about screwed
alternators and/or wiring will not come true. After my 1.8 80 (walk around
the engine block while working on it) this car is not one I relish working
on in my parking lot.
