Subject: [CQ] R-134a A/C conversion?
Converted my 85 5ks to 134a using the thermodyne kit. I did not replace any
o-rings or any other modifications other that change the fittings. Mine has
worked fine exept for when sitting in traffic it tends not to cool very
well, I think it needs a larger condenser. While moving though it works
fine, not as well as R-12 but alright for the $35 spent. Before trying this
kit I did not think that it would work. At best I thought that It would
leak, and at worst ruin the compressor. But 4 months so far so good.
