RE: Brake vacuum (was 4K turbo conversion)

Not necessary at all. Just get a vacuum canister and plumb it in line with
the brake booster. There is plenty of vacuum to operate the brakes with this
set up. I have done many track days and even done some left foot braking
without drama. Remember that even on the track the car spends a lot of time
off boost. Watch the gauge sometime.

As for getting the vacuum pump machined into the turbo block that is insanity
(of course I almost did it:-). The lobe is on the cam but that pump is such a
poor design I cannot imagine doing that to a perfectly good head.

4 - Brake vacuum - I thin k I may have a problem with this. The turbo engine
does not create a lot of vacuum, ad a result I may find that the brake
booster
will not have sufficient vacuum.

You may be able to mount a vacuum pump from a 90. This may require drilling
the proper hole for the pump push shaft in your head. I recall reading the
cam lobe for the pump is in all engines, but do not know for sure.
