What you would want to do is to hit the connections with a squirt of
Stabilant (or equiv) ... then, once that is worked in, a bit of the
dielectric grease can help to keep the connection from degrading. Many of
the older cars have contacts that are exposed to the elements ... sometimes
heat as well as water ... the dielectric grease should be used on the
contacts to keep the bad stuff out. Many of the newer cars have sealed
connectors at the lamp and wiring hranesses. In these cases the Stabilant
is advised, but if you are going to use any dielectric grease, only use it
at the connector seals ...
