right tool for the job?

I'm in the process of putting Brembo rotors and
pads on the front of my 5kq.  Got one side done,
smiling. On the other side I got one of the brake
pad carrier bolts off and go for the other and it
wouldn't budge.  Put a breaker bar on and start
the grunt. Snap!  GDI!  Hop around a bit nursing a
tender knuckle. The socket broke, took the points
off the bolt head.  What's the best tool for the
job here?  Something that will grab the head of
the bolt.  Any BTDT?  Thanks for any help.
