H4 versus 9003

OK, I remember something about H4 bulbs working in
a 9003 application, and I've personally looked at the
two in a store and can't see a physical difference.

Are H4 applicable for a 9003 application, or not?

The only difference I could think of would be the
wiring of the electrical contacts.

The reason I ask, is that PIAA is marking an H4 bulb
called the PIAA Super White. This bulb runs at the
color temp level of 3800K, whereas the standard
halogen runs only at 3200K.

They also claim the H4 60/55W = 110/100W SuperWhite.
(NOTE: Color temp is a unit of measure for the color
of light, not related to the heat of the light source. -
quote from the PIAA literature.)
