CGT Problems

My wife's 86 CGT today developed a very low idle, "missing" under
acceleration, and a lack of power. I pulled the plugs, they were a nice tan.
Checked the air plate and boots for leaks. Popped the distributor cap and
found a little build up on the tip of the rotor and on the outside "buttons"
under the cap. I cleaned these up. Checked connections all under the hood.
Took it out for a spin, everything fine. My wife drives off, and calls when
she gets to her destination saying the car is "doing it again". Any helpful
hints? Maybe bad fool???
