Know the feeling. The 89 100q I bought had about 130,000 on it. Lots of
maintenance receipts. The PO had the car from about 70000 miles on.
Could not find any paperwork for the timing belt. Called him up, and, of
course, we all know the answer. Had the belt, water pump, pulley, etc.
done immediately. Damn belt just about disintergrated as it was being
removed. Discovered a lot of other things the longer I had the car.

It is now up to 168,000 miles and runs fine (do think I need a new fuel
pumpp though). The list of things I've replaced in the past year and a
half would take up a lot of BW.

Happy Audi-ing!
