      Have you bought the Bentley manual for the car yet?
      It has a very detailed procedure for finding the
      faulty parts in the climate control system.
      When there is a problem in the system, it defaults
      to full defrost.  95% of the time the
      programmer is at fault, not the control unit.  Check
      the solder points, especially where the vacuum
      solenoids are attached to the board.
