The design, IMO, has no inherent weakness as long as all the moving
bits are lubricated occasionally.

	Unfortunately, the "design" included making the main lever from pot metal
instead of real metal.  With the voids in the metal, and being subjected to
greater heat extremes here in the U.S., that does suggest that there is a
design flaw.  And considering that someone on the list recently had a "new"
one disintegrate in his hands, temp may not be all that big a factor in
pointing to a flaw.
