Shane-
As an engineer, I value the rights of creative folks like writers and
artists and photographers. I also acknowledge their rights when it comes
to copyright violation.
But, I _do_ take these things into perspective. When the images will
probably only be viewed by a small number of people, a great percentage of
whom probably already subscribe to their wonderful magazine (in this
case), I don't consider it a major felony, ethically speaking. I am _not_
making money off of reproducing their work, and I always make a major
effort to give credit where credit is due. And, I would like to add, that
if anyone wants these illegal pictures removed, I will do as such.
With nothing short of rampant illegal reproductions of pictures and
whole articles on the web, I can't say that I will really lose much sleep
over what transgressions I have made.
But since you voiced your opinion, and I value that, the pictures will
_not_ go up until I have received word from EC. I would hate to have
_you_ lose sleep over this issue :).
I'll give EC a call as soon as I get the time :)
Anyone want to forward EC's toll-free to me here at the lab? Forgot to
bring in the rag...
