Using any other detector instead of a Valentine 1, is like using a leather
belt from Nordstroms as a timing belt on a V8 quattro.

The $200 you save today will cost you 2 fold if you get a single ticket.

BTW, today was the SECOND time my V1 saved a "Portland speeder" from laser.
 They DO ticket for going through a 5 police car laser trap at 15 mph over
the posted speed and one is the only car in the "fast" lane.  However, when
there are no flat surfaces on the front of the car and the V1 signals the
first hit, the Porterfield R4 pads can pull the car down to 50 before the
second laser hit occurs!  AND only the V1 will tell you that there is
ANOTHER radar trap ahead of you while signalling the trap behind you that
you just passed!

Buy a V1 if you're going to buy anything at all.
