Re: spam

Any comm program will work that supports redial (I prefer Telix). Just set
it up for 10 seconds between redials and 999 redials. Let it run all night
long. Except it's illegal (maddeningly enough)....

Yahoo is unfortunately, not too stringent on spam originating from their
members. postmaster@yahoo.com and abuse@yahoo.com are the appropriate
addresses. Send a copy of the genius's note with a NICE explanation, e.g.
"We're a mailing list that specifically discusses Audi Quattros and do not
want this UNSOLICITED traffic. Please delete this User per your TOS." (TOS
stands for Terms of Service) Of course, the genius will just create
another free email account and spam again.

Long-term solution is for Dan to set the list up to either A> accept posts
from members only (kinda limiting but is oftentimes the best way to go when
lists get spammed a lot) or B> reject all mail from *@yahoo.com (can be an
admin hardship to continually update and can lock out users (although I'd
hate to read this list with web-based email))...
