While I was away on vacation last month, I received an email from Dean
Treadway, an Oakland-based quattrophile whose 3B conversion of a Coupe
Quattro was the inspiration for my own ersatz S2 project.  It seems a friend
of Dean's has got an '85 ur with a 3B engine for sale.  Dean thinks he'll
want $25K or so, but describes it as "very nice."  Dean knows whereof he
speaks:  He has a lovely 20vt ur of his own in addition to the CQ.
