Re: stainless st. brakeline choices
>From what I understand, regular SS lines simply have the braid directly
over the teflon tube. This can allow small pieces of road debris to work
into the braid and chaff against the teflon tube. Can you say failure?
There also some concern over the fittings on the ends of the braid, if
not properly made/installed the line can potentially snap where the line
it enters the fitting, or so I've read.
DOT lines have an additional covering or braid to prevent debris from
contecting the teflon tube. The ones I use have an inner Kevlar braid.
Something about the fittings is different too.
I found an EXCELLENT! place for brake lines while building my Corrado.
Paragon performance, they have a web sight, I don't recall the exact
address. They built me a custom set of 7 DOT lines for $92!
Enjoy,
