Alcantara tips?

I'm really sick of sticking to my vinyl seats, and since the center back pad
isn't sewn down the sides, creating mini covers will be easy. A nearby fabric
store has an auto section with lots of velour and vinyl, and even Alcantara
(ultra suede). At $50 per yard, I'm thrilled at needing no more than one! Can
anyone who has this fabric interior, attest to its hot weather comfort? They
also have a snake skin pattern vinyl that makes me wanna rent "Wild at Heart".
Again, vinyl's too hot for the seats; but maybe for the doors....
