Rear spring swapping

My '85 coupe GT's rear shocks have been bad for 6 months and totally blown
for the last 2. I have the Boge turbo replacements, but haven't had
opportunity to actually do the job. With 150K on the car, and 2 months of
total abuse, I fear the springs will be shot, but how can I tell? I was
thinking to dig up some possible replacements from the junk yard; what are the
sportiest OE springs I could hope to find? Are the FWD 5000 rear springs
compatible? (heavier car, stiffer spring?)
