Re: injector lines - NOT (I hope)
That's the whole point of using the NF engine Vs the NG engine, it is
_supposed_ to use the same CIS-E as the 4KQ, where the NG has the 2-piece
IM, different injectors and mounted in the IM Vs in the head on the 4KQ,
the higher system pressure to help reduce vapor-lock, different FI lines,
different Fdist, etc, etc. yaddya yaddya yaddya...... Changeover to the NG
CIS-E III is _exactly_ what I want to avoid! All the best expert advice
I've been able to garner says that this (NF Code engine) is the way to do
this upgrade without all that FI complexity.
My goal and intent is to keep the CIS from the 4KQ _totally 100% intact_ to
minimize cost & complexity. I plan to simply unplug the FIs from the 4KQ
head and plug them into the NF head - zero changes. If this won't work then
I've got a show-stopper!

Subject: injector lines
<<According to the Haynes manual I own, the fuel injectors on the NF engine
have a finer thread and ,if I remember correctly, a higher opening
pressure.
I've never had to remove my injectors (87 5kq) so I can't say for sure and
Haynes is not 100% reliable.

I think that's correct. Which means you'll probably need another set
of
injector lines -- check to see if the old lines will screw onto the new
injectors.
If they don't, and you didn't get the injector lines with the engine,
let me
know. We probably have one set of later style lines in the shop.
