Location of AC relay

The AC compressor seized on my 1990 Audi 100 recently - much squealing and 
smoke from under the hood.
Easy solution since it's the end of summer - disconnect the lead to the 
compressor clutch and fix the problem
next spring. Unfortunately, the car now idles at 1800 rpm whenever I select 
any climate setting other than ECON.
This will be a problem if I want to use defrost in the middle of winter....
Looking at my Bentley manual it would appear that pulling the AC relay will 
probably fix this condition. Unfortunately
I can't find the relay - it certainly isn't in position 4 on the auxiliary 
relay panel which is where the book says it is.
Can anyone tell me how to identify and find this relay or suggest some 
other way to fix my idle problem?
