Yeah, this is a reality check, isn't it? ;) Dan, here's my secret:

1) Always make sure your wife drives the nicest car in the family.
2) Make sure that if something on it breaks, you fix it IMMEDIATELY.

Now I've strayed from #2, and have been greeted shortly there after with
the "No more cars speech." But as long as I stay current on #2, all is well.

Whose car has always gotten new tires (where I have existed for years
buying used tires)? Or the new CD changer? Or is getting the Porsche
brake upgrade?

You get the idea. My wife is not a "car person." She does however, drive
faster than I on average. She also LOVES her V8 quattro (her words).

Seriously though, the problem I have is seeing Audis scrapped at the
wrecking yards. I can not tell you how many perfect leather interiors I've
seen trashed, how many good (and expensive) V8 parts mangled and destroyed
when the monkey lads take an engine or trans. out, or countless times
having perfectly good bodied Audis crushed for scrap.

I would love to make a business out of parting out Audis. To AVS's credit,
they are one of the few dismantlers that I have seen that take the time to
get everything of value to the enthusiast out of their cars before they are
hauled away. I don't agree with most of their behavior, but at least they
do something very well up there.

Thanks, Dan for the great forum and for your hard work over the years. I
look forward to the list's evolution.
