86 coupe clutch and brake

I have two items that I hope others may help me: First ever since I've had
the coupe, the clutch pedal never came back up completly, I've assume this
was cause by the play in the clevis ( and there is some play ). One day I
even had problem clutching so I had to pull back the pedal in order to
clutch properly, I fixed it by unscrewing the clevis two turns. Should I
think about rebuilding the master and the slave and are rebuid kits
availlable from the dealer, what should I worry about ??
The other point concerns the back brake regulator. When I redid the back
brakes I found this component and discoverd the function by looking thru
the bently and tried to clean this regulator as best as I could (each pin
that reduces the brake pressure to each wheel as the rear end of the car
rises during braking) the best I got these to work was about 1/16 inch of
movement and they are not spring loaded only the rubber grommet brings them
back to their original position and It did not seem like these were able to
do the job. In the end I grease all the best I could but I dont think they
have any effect, I have never tested with pressures gauges or done an all
out brake in a safe parking area so I'm not sure how the car would react in
an emergency situation. Any comments on this component, is it worth to
replace ?
