Re: TIE RODS 4KQ

Mike;

    I had the same problem on my '91 200q when I took it in for an
alignment. The left front tie rod end needed replacing - it took the
mechanic about 60 minutes with a torch and various (progessively larger and
heavier) implements of persuasion to get the tie rod end unthreaded from the
tie rod. I've been through this before - that's why I took it to the dealer
and stood around making helpful suggestions while the unfortunate mechanic
sweated and strained. The best $40 I've spent in a long time - it was worth
it just for the entertainment value! They even gave me a break on the price
because it took so long ( we have a great local AUDI dealer!).
