Re: Stereo upgrade for Coupe GT

There's restricted depth because of a duct that's in the way. According to
Crutchfield there is NO stereo receiver that will fit (!!), but a local
stereo
shop had a JVC on clearance that fit (according to Crutchfield the same
model
was 6 1/2" in their catalog), but they include the wiring harness. The
original
radio I pulled out was 6", I estimated 6 1/4" would be the most I could go.

Perhaps later CGT's have more depth? Maybe that duct can be pushed back,
but
it didn't seem like it would. The cross brace with the grommet for rear
support
could always be moved. The one I got fits like a glove, the DIN mount is
much
easier to work with than the original shaft mounts. Almost all radios use
the
DIN mounts these days.
