AC woes!
Greetings fellow listers!
Having some AC problems. The AC works, but the climate control doesn't
seem to be doing it's job. I have it set at 70, and it sure as heck isn't
70 in the car, yet the cold air barely creeps out of the vents.
I think the climate control / or interior temp sensor (where is this item?)
is getting an inaccurate reading. Seems like that is the problem anyways.
I pulled the fault codes on it and asked a mechanic what it was....he told
me it was the pyrotensiometer!? I don't know what this is. But then I told
him that I think the recirc flap has had problems in the past of sticking.
He told me that could definately cause the censor (is this what he means by
the pyrotensiometer?) to get an inaccurate reading.
Does this sound right to you guys? Anyone with simmilar experiences? BTW,
this is in a 1990 200TQ. Oh and the mechanic said it would take like 5 or 6
hours of labor to get in there and replace the recirc vent flap. I said no
thanks! At that cost, I'll try my hand at repairing it when I have a little
more time. It's right behind the glovebox, isn't it?
Any info or advice appreiated. It was 94 in Atlanta on Sunday and I thought
I was going to melt with the seat!
Later,
Dan
