Ah....yeah. Salinas is definitely not a nice town, it wasn't 15 years ago, when I
was in the Army at Fort Ord, I can only wonder what it's like now. Seaside's nic
name on base was "Sleazyside", one friend who lived there kept a 9mm under his
pillow. Marina on the other hand tended to be a more "middle-class" to
"upper-class" kind of town. Marina isn't that far from Laguna Seca either. Taking
a side trip to Big Sur is a definite plus, I believe the park I used to frequent
was called David Molera State Park. If nothing else, it's a beautiful drive.
