200tqm slipping out of gear

I'm looking at buying a '91 200tqm that slips out of 3rd gear if left there too long. The car pulls fine in that and all other gears, but sounds kind of sketchy. I know on older Saabs that this problem usually means you're gonna need a new gearbox real soon. Anyone know if that's the case with this particular car?
