Before plugging in the belt twist the metal catch a few times. Then move
the seat forward. This locks the lower belt even tighter.

When I put an infant in a rear-facing child seat up front (where I can see
her; she's in back if there's more than one of us; no airbag in front
passenger side) I use this procedure to insure the child seat is firmly
installed. You should also lean down on the child seat to compress the seat
foam.
