RE: Improved Seat Belt/Racing Harness - Good Trick...

Simpler and used with great success for many years: recline the seat a lot
(experimentation needed relative to how much), fasten the belt normally, no
twists, pull on the shoulder harness part of the belt to get as much slack
as possible back into the supply spool (more experimentation on exactly how
tight it needs to be), then yank quickly on the belt in the opposite
direction, pulling the belt out of the supply spool and locking the
inertial locking device, now, while keeping tension on the belt so that the
inertia lock remains locked - incline the seatback back up to your 'normal'
driving position - the belt is now tighly locked around you - both shoulder
and lap. This not only gives you more control but also offers better chance
of survival in the event of a worse-case scenario as the belts are
pre-tensioned as with the Procon-Ten system. May sound like a complicated
procedure, but it is not once you try it.
