Lasergun countermeasures
The outgoing laser beam is small and focused, but what's the swept area
of the sensor? It would make sense for it to be as small as possible to
deal with sun glare and day running lights. At a large distance, a
single IR source on your car may be within the swept area of the sensor.
If you see the defender of justice in time, this might give you time to
brake. For a black car (bra?) without a front plate, an IR source near
each headlight might be effective. A sloped, black car with retractable
headlights and no front plate has little to fear from laser. Anything
that makes the headlights/front plate less laser reflective reduces your
risk.
