87 CGT Dash Lights

Gentlemen:

It now appears that all the lights on the switches on the right-hand side
of my dash are dark.  These include the Hazard Switch, Computer Switch,
and Rear Defrost Switch.  I disassembled to the best of my meager ability
each switch, and found the light to seemingly be an integral part of the
'wired-in' piece of the switch.  I've been advised by one listmember to
simply solder in new red bulbs from radio shack, but I simply do not
posess the know-how or tools to do the job.  I can see myself sitting in
the driver's seat with a mass of melted plastic and solder rendered to my
leg.  Any advice on how I can get these switches lit again, or will I have
to order them new from the $Dealer$ and have a local shop $install$ them?
Every response will be greatly appreciated.
