It would be fun to do an automatic turbo to turbo 5 speed conversion tho'.
The final drive is different between 5ks 5 speed and the 5kcstq/5kcs5sp, so
you may want to change the final gear, as somebody pointed out. Or you may
not; what a passing gear!
All that being said, there has to be alot to this conversion. My mechanic
will pretty much do anything, and I can't get him to even entertain the
idea. I have an 89 200 auto(as far as I can tell, the last year for a non-q
5 speed turbo, please prove me wrong), and I'm want to convert it to a 5
speed. Forget it. He won't do it. I have an archived msg of Jeff
Hemmerlin (I think) doing an 81. Says it isn't worth the hassle.
Marty, I'll pick his brain for you anyway. Maybe he can shed a little
light.
