Ah, forgive my unresearched ignorance.  The small delay would coincide
with the fuel pump cycling on for a few seconds to bring system pressure
up?  What about the cold start injector?  Only on during cranking?

Anyhoo, it certainly starts on one quick flip more often (80% vs 50% of
the time) when I wait for that initial cycle to elapse.
