Re: Clutch vibration
4kq AT owners (if such a car exists) press <Del> now. I preface my
comments with the understanding that - I've had several beers, well 6,
no 8, ah who cares; the Giants - that's NY Giants - are winning (see
below).
Mea Culpa to the 4K/man trans owners for not closely following this
thread; have my own problems w/rack,trans mounts, driveshaft,CC blower
motor, etc. etc...
John,
you jogged my memory. ~ 5 years ago, a buddy of mine owned an 86 4ksq
(what a beauty). Anyhow, he had clutch problems - wouldn't engage/low
pedal and CLUTCH VIBRATIONS (as I recall). Drove around for a week
w/vibrations getting worse and found (when brought to shop) that
something (forged) in the bell housing that held vital piece (shift
fork?) broke - not because of bad forge but because it was not
immediately fixed (saw the damage). Result - used trans at ~$1200.
IF YOU ARE COMPETENT, FIX IT NOW OR GET THEE TO A MECHANIC (how does one
make the simley and sad face at the same time) :-()?
HTH,
Mike Murphy
Warning - - - rant on - - -
You know, I'm beginning to believe that if was not for the list, Audi
would not be as popular. . . ah, forget it. AoA, you owe us! Same for
VAG: EC, Asia, NZ, AU, and whoever else.
This concludes the rant - - - we return you to normal whatever.
OFF CONTENT COMMENT -----
