Push them both toward the center of the car. Sometimes a long flat-head
screw driver will help or a hook made from a coathanger.

Subject: Broken Hood Latch Cable


I have a 1989 100 Audi 4 door sedan. The cable to the hood latch broke a few
days ago at the under hood end. How do I get the hood unlatched to fix the
cable? I can see the two latch hooks through the front grill and they are
not hooked on anything. Which way do I push them to unlatch the hood?  I do
not have a diagram of the latch mechanism which would help. Thanks for the
help.
