speedo

I have a 1985 4KS Q and the speedo reads about 10 mph to fast. One 
person told me that the speedo could be from a non-quattro car. Another 
person says that since the transmission in it came out of an 84 4KS Q, 
that it reads wrong because the 84 is geared different. If it is geared 
different, would the 84 speedo fix my problem.The tires are the right 
size for the car, so i know that thats not it.
I also have a problem with the top light for that drive selector thing, 
sometimes when im driving with the switch in the off position the top 
light (for the front wheels) comes on, but when i stick the knob in the 
front position the light doesn't come on.If i put in rear position the 
light comes on.
This is my first Audi and Ive only had my car for about a week or so, so 
i dont know alot about them. Any help would be appreciated.
